Breakfast and very early (for us) dinner. We snacked on brownies, green grapes and turkey meat through the middle of the day so we’re calling it all good. Day 15 of the 24 Day Challenge was super simple in all areas and is now done! Sautéed onions and red bell peppers with eggs, bacon and turkey for breakfast. Left over pork chops and a delightful kale/Brussels sprouts /cranberry/something/something salad mix from Costco for dinner. There’s enough for one more meal for at least three of us tomorrow. And speaking of tomorrow…Matt has the crockpot set up to start a pork roast with carrots and onions as we head to bed. A little bit of planning to get us a great start for this week! #blog #paleo #24daychallenge #advocare #easyfood #munsonfamily #munsonmischief

Blood donation around here earns you gluten free brownies. They are light, fluffy and aMAZing! I owe several recipes from these past two weeks and will add these to the list. They do NOT taste like a sacrifice nor are they filled with different things to avoid in order to be ‘healthy’. #glutenfree #grainfree #healthylife #cleaneating #24daychallenge #advocare #fitover40 #cleandessert #glutenfreedessert #grainfreedessert #yum #paleo #chocolate #brownies #blog

We’re in the second part of the 24 Day Challenge now. Today is day 14 and aside from food variances or leanness goals every day looks much like this. Catalyst and MNS-3 are my go to regulars for general health and well being. I view supplements as insurance against disease or illness. AdvoCare has s brilliant product in the MNS systems! The basics of multi-vitamin, multi-mineral, top quality EFAs, probiotics for continued gut health (your first line of defense and wellness) are all laid out for you in an easy to manage strip. Some vitamins and minerals need to be consumed on an empty stomach in order to be optimally absorbers. Some need food and fat. Do you know which is which and when to take what? The MNS system helps you out. Catalyst is an amino acid blend. I’ll write about that product separately. Regarding diet (food in general) from here to the end of the Challenge, the goal is to stay clean. Eggs, bacon, guacamole for breakfast as often as is possible. Lunch and dinner are a basic formula of meat plus as many vegetables as possible plus healthy fat. Anyone who says paleo eating is low/no carb is doing it wrong. #fitmom #munsonfamily #fitlife #fitover40 #advocare #24daychallenge #cleaneating #healthylife #glutenfree #grainfree #paleo #positivechanges #blog

I didn’t finish off my day yesterday with what was the end of the first 10 days of our 24 Day Challenge. The main focus of the first 10 days is gut health as everything else regarding your health builds off of how healthy your gut is. Damaged gut lining can let in the wrong things, not absorb the right things, not protect you from whatever bug is going around at the moment and even set your body up to fight itself! So the first 10 days is about super simple eating, probiotics and herbal cleanse to help you’ve at your best for the next 14 days. Day 10 had yellow meat watermelon, gluten free muffins (coconut and tapioca flours) and roast with green beans for dinner. Not kidding on how easy the food should be during this stretch. Good meats, vegetables galore, some fruits, healthy fat. Done. It’s not rocket surgery. #fitover40 #bettereveryday #blog #fitmom #advocare #24daychallenge #glutenfree #grainfree #cleaneating #cleansnack #fitfood #nutrition #healthylife #healthyliving

Day 10 is off to a great start! Personal training done, conversation with one kid (the other is still asleep) and plans for the day down on paper. Old school. In the way of the 24 Day Challenge, everything started with probiotics and Cataylst (amino acid blend) which is followed later by fiber drink and an excellent breakfast made by the Man @m4munson! Eggs with salsa, bacon and half an apple. Let’s roll, Wednesday! #notricks #simplehealth #easyfood #motivation #guthealth #24daychallenge #advocare #fitover40 #fitlife #breakfast #paleo #blog

Day 9 of my 24 Day Challenge went a little sideways. I left the house at 7:30, got home by 11:40 but still had another hour before I could head inside to eat…breakfast. Yes, breakfast after noon. So probiotics when I got up but fiber drink didn’t happen until about 12:45 with half a small grapefruit and about 30 minutes later the last of the meat sauce from last week. Dinner was spicy chicken (I’ll get the recipe posted, Shannan!), string beans and a small-ish salad. No my food wasn’t evenly spaced out over the course of the day. Did I get it all done? Yes. Did I have issues with energy today due to this unplanned intermittent fasting? Nope. No dragging, no cloudy thinking. I was firing on all cylinders. A Spark in the morning (Green Apple) and a Spark in the afternoon (Pink Lemonade) plus clean eating and all is rocking! Tomorrow starts considerably earlier so there’s no telling when I’ll eat breakfast but it’s all good! One more day is left on the first part – the gut health phase – of the Challenge. #blog #paleo #grainfree #glutenfree #fitlife #fitover40 #advocare #24daychallenge #guthealth #munsonfamily #motivation #easyfood #simplehealth #notricks

The finish of Day 8 of our AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge was crockpot roast with sweet potatoes and onions. Matt prepped the veggies on Sunday, Alyx set the whole thing up in the crockpot Monday morning. Dinner was ready when I got home. 4 of us ate and there are left overs for lunches. Easy peasy! #advocare #easyfood #24daychallenge #cleaneating #healthylife #fitover40 #fitlife #munsonfamily #glutenfree #grainfree #paleo #blog

So Alyx, bless her, gets an attack of the sweet tooth now and then and today was a great day because I was also hit with a a sweet tooth attack! These little gems were made by combining melted chocolate chips, almond butter, finely shredded (no sugar added) coconut and chocolate Muscle Gain protein powder. Mix, scoop, refrigerate. Done. #advocare #24daychallenge #fitlife #fitover40 #fitmom #healthylife #cleaneating #grainfree #cleansnack #snacks #blog

And Day 7 of our most recent AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge is done! We started the day with some weight lifting, then a 15-ish minute workout and followed it up with a custom shake that Matt mixed up with Muscle Gain, Post Workout Recovery, Fiber Drink, mixed berries, coconut milk and ice. Split amongst the four of us (varying for size) and we were covered for breakfast. Then Matt and I were off to work on a gym install for a couple of hours. Back home for lunch we had soft tacos in corn tortillas with ground meat he made a couple of days ago and lettuce, guacamole and salsa. All around this is super simple food with no added sugars, flavoring, preservatives or extra scary stuff. The goal with dinner was to use the Brussels Sprouts and otherwise empty out the fridge. That there are left overs for Matt to take to lunch tomorrow is a big bonus. Dinner ended up having the Brussels Sprouts, chicken breast, rotisserie chicken and carrots all dumped in together with garlic pepper and some other seasoning blends. It was tasty and simple and uses up those last bits here and there rather than throw them away. Eating clean does not have to be expensive! The Challenge systematizes and takes the confusion out of eating. Here’s the other thing that doing a 24 Day Challenge does for you…it keeps you on track for 24 Days! This weekend we were on the road and out of our routine. We would have LOVED to have done our normal and said road food doesn’t count but we are on a Challenge. Good stuff! #blog #grainfree #paleo #positivechanges #cleaneating #healthylife #fitmom #fitover40 #fitlife #24daychallenge #advocare
